bren51 Posted February 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Are all the staterooms on Emerald obstructed and has anyone stayed in one of these staterooms. Trying to book a balcony but not sure of the best location.
JRYMCMB Posted February 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I'm not sure if all of them are obstructed however I know my mom was on the Royal this past December and was booked in an obstructed balcony stateroom on Emerald. She said it was horrible, the balcony was completely blocked by a lifeboat and they were disturbed by the lowering of lifeboats on tender days. She also stated that there was a strong smell of oil from the balcony. Her recommendation is to stay away from any obstructed balcony stateroom on this ship. Its just not worth it. nat9511 Posted February 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2014 The balconies midship on Emerald deck on the curve are not obstructed. I had E424 and it was great. It was larger than most.

sunshine100 Posted February 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2014 We were in E405--great room and large size balcony, no obstruction or smells, very central location, we loved this area and everything about this cruise! :D:D
CruiseWookiee Posted February 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Lots of pics on this thread... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1808632 I would definitely advise to stay away from anything E-600's.

Just off the Royal and were in D605, sitting on the balcony you could see the tops of the life boats not the ocean.
