I have to admit that this is the first time I have heard about Happy Harry.

Not sure about the Veendam steward, but Harry goes through the Lido on the Ryndam in the morning saying "Coffee from Heaven, make you happy" a most pleasant fellow!!

 

But coffee from heaven can not be found in the Lido! :D

It seems like every vessel has that one person that is just so memorable in their day-to-day demeanor.

 

On my recent Veendam cruise, that person was "Jomar", one of the chefs in the Lido. He would burst out in song several times throughout the various meal services, and managed to get his coworkers to sing with him on many of those occasions. Here's a very cr*ppy phone video clip of one such occasions.

 

 

We were lucky and actually had two such remarkable people on our trip. The other was one of the Lido Assistant Stewards, "Nanang". He ALWAYS took the time to help my mother carry her food or bring her coffee before I even had a chance. He also was very patient in helping me to learn some basic phrases in Bahasa Indonesia, and suffered through me trying out new ones that I picked up during the cruise. Crappy cell pic of him. (Ugh, I feel so old, he couldn't have been more than 19, haha).
