Which area for Miami hotel near mall?

Hi there,

 

I'm looking for an area for a hotel to do the following: arrive the night before the cruise from Europe, so with jet-lag, therefore don't need any night life, etc. Day of cruise, hit a mall in the morning (doesn't have to be a big one, yours are all big by European standards) then go back to the hotel to pick up bags and head to the ship.

 

Which area would you guys suggest?

What kind of mall? I don't know what kind of money you'd like to spend but my first two choices in this order are Bal Harbour Shops then Aventura.

 

Just a heads up, if you are leaving on a Sunday morning, most malls don't open until after 12 noon.

Downtown Miami is near Bayside Marketplace, which is essentially an outdoor mall. We stayed at Intercontinental 2 years ago and it was a short pleasant walk through a park. This year we are at B2 Hotel, right across the street from it. Got both places on Priceline for $100.

As an above poster mentioned, stores open later on Sundays.
