Should we upgrade....if...

They put us in a handicapped interior cabin for our upcoming 4 night Sapphire cruise to Santa Barbara/Encinada on the Lido deck (we're not mobile impaired did not ask for)....if they offer an upgrade to an OV would you take it just for the window...?? Having never done an interior our only concern is lack of light in the room.....we know the handicapped cabin is larger.....what would you do....??

If it's after final payment and close to sailing, I wouldn't feel guilty accepting a HC cabin. There are some people who are not handicapped in any way who deliberately book HC cabins well in advance that should feel guilty.

If you get an upgrade offer it probably means that some else really needs the cabin you are in now.

For that reason alone, you should take the up grade offer.

This may be one of the few occasions that you may be able to get an upgrade by requesting it, but you can also shoot yourself in the foot and get a regular interior room if they have one available.

 

Don't expect you will get an upgrade before sailing, if they NEED the room, they will offer you an upgrade.

I would not be concerned if it is a handicap cabin. If it is offered, Princess has obviously determined that they will not need it for handicap passengers.

No. Sometimes Princess assigns these cabins to anyone.

They are not permitted to ask those questions.

We once received a surpise HC room (don't remember which ship) and I liked the big bathroom. The shower is huge compared to other Princess showers, but you need to deal with the unusual drainage. If they are offering it this late in the process, they must think it won't be needed for any handicapped guests.
