We are getting ready to book our first Royal Caribbean cruise on the Oasis next July! We will be with my parents (cruised Royal Caribbean many times), and my brother and his wife (never cruised before). We have been on the Disney Fantasy once (we absolutely loved it!)

Seriously, you can plan excursions, do online check-in, arrange transfers before/after the cruise, etc.

When will we be able to book stuff and check in online?

You can check-in online as soon as you have the cruise line's booking number. You won't be able to print the boarding passes until you have made final payment, but you can enter all you information.

 

Excursions and specialty dining will open a few months before the cruise. Just keep checking the website.

For me, once I book, the long wait is spent stalking this board trying to absorb every detail of the ship/itinerary we are sailing. But the wait just makes the vacation so much sweeter.
