Athens flight at 12:20

We will be debarking the Sojourn on Saturday, September 20 in Athens. The itinerary says we dock at 7:00 am. (We are very nearby the day before.) There is a non-stop flight home at 11:20 am, but I think that is too early if there are any delays at the port. There is an Air France flight at 12:20 pm. Do you think we can make the 12:20? Would you risk the 11:20? I think it is about 90 minutes to the airport. (Since it is Saturday it might be faster.) We are going to New York, so we may need to go through extra airport security, which also adds time. I will arrange a private transfer which helps with timing.

 

This board has been excellent with connection advice, so I appreciate any ideas you have.

Merrill, I definitely would. It go with the 11:20 AM flight due to the reasons you mentioned. 12:20 would be fine. My only question is what airport are you one ting through and how. Uh time do you have for the connection. I ask because some of the airports and connection times can be too risky.

I am going to give us a lot of time with a flight that has over 4 hours connection time at CDG. There is another flight that would only give us 90 minutes at CDG, but that is too tight for me, since I think we will have to go through security again at CDG on our way to New York. (Our other choice is BA with about 3 hours at Heathrow.)

90 minutes is way to tight for CDG, one of the more problematic airports imo.

Henry, you are right. Whenever I use the iPad I end up with some word that was not what I thought I typed.

 

I agree with Henry . Go with a four hour connection as a 90 minute connection at CDG is just not enough time.

CDG is really bad. Ask about this on the cruise air board and you will get the same answer as Henry and I have provided. Don't do it.

Couldn't agree more. At some airports I'd say okay but not at CDG.

I'm actually booked on the 12:20 flight from Athens to CDG in July after debarking the Sojourn, however Paris is my final destination. Why not spend the day visiting Athens and then leisurly take the direct flight home the next day?

You read my mind. We decided to stay a night in Athens and take the direct Delta flight home the next day. We will have dinner looking at the Acropolis, which is always beautiful.
