socialsea Posted February 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2014 I booked a cruise on Freedom of the Seas, November 30, 2014, about 7 weeks ago. We got a cabin for 3 people, a deluxe cabin on the hump on deck 6 #6348 At the time, we paid $849.00pp for 1st & 2nd and 499.00pp for 3rd person plus $95.77pp taxes. I have been checking everyday for price drops and yesterday while searching I noticed that a higher category became available for the same price. A superior cabin on deck 6 on the hump cabin #6650. So I called my travel agent first thing this morning and asked her for the upgrade. She called me back about an hour later with the approved upgrade. She then said that there had been a price drop of $70.00pp & a $60.00 drop on the 3rd. passenger, for a total of $200.00 off the cabin. Like I said, I search faithfully everyday looking for price drops. I look at the RCCL website, plus the website of the travel agency I dealt with. NO WHERE is there a price drop, so I am wondering where this came from. Not that I am complaining, just wondering where the price drop might have come from. I do always put in the senior discount & the residency discount whenever I search for price drops.
Clarea Posted February 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2014 Maybe the lower price didn't last long and your travel agent happened to catch it at just the right time?
twospoiled Posted February 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2014 You are very lucky!! I am also booked on that same sailing with my family and the price for our category (F - large ov) has gone up over $100 pp in the last few days. Very glad I booked months ago!
