Yes, please join our roll call.

It is my understanding that you must book excursions in the Panama Canal with Holland America. You cannot get off the ship on your own while in the canal, only with a HAL supervised tour.

I see that you are doing a Partial Panama Canal cruise.

Once the ship goes through the locks and anchors in Gatun Lake, only those passengers who have booked HAL excursions can tender ashore.

Panama does not allow anyone else off the ship.

There are no private excursions here.

Marybeth, we are on the same cruise and booked the Embera Village with HAL. As KK said, I do believe this is the only option to get to the village from a cruise.
