gblotter Posted February 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) We are booked on a Solstice Alaska cruise in August. The ship leaves from and returns to Seattle. The last port of call is Victoria B.C. on Thursday night, and then normal disembarkation is in Seattle on Friday morning. Will Celebrity allow us to disembark in Victoria in order to spend the weekend there in a hotel, and then transport ourselves via ferry back to Seattle? Gonzo70 Posted February 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Probably, but you need to arrange this in advance with them. They need to make preparations so that local authorities can process your debarkation.
Algebralovr Posted February 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2014 They did last May, but it was all arranged in advance. As a side note, we had breakfast with a couple who did this. They said it was the most relaxed disembarkation they had ever had, since they didn't have to rush to be off early in the morning,
Phxazzcruisers Posted February 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Yes, you probably can, bu as said you must make arrangements in advance so Celebrity can take care of Customs issues.
gblotter Posted February 27, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Thanks for the information. I called Celebrity to make arrangements for disembarkation in Victoria. After spending 85 minutes on hold (is this a record?) I gave up. This is just ridiculous. Our cruise isn't until August, so I'll try calling again after the 123Go promotion ends. If you are not able to make the arrangements in advance, just see the concierge on the ship early in your cruise and s/he can take care of setting it up for you. It should not be a problem. Whenever we have been on an Alaska cruise that stopped in Victoria, there were always some passengers disembarking there, both tourists who wanted to spend time on Vancouver Island after the cruise and Canadians who live there returning home.
