San Juan Beach Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a good beach to visit while visiting this port? Taxi ride to the beach?

A Friend told me about Isla Verde which is a quick taxi ride. There are other beaches but was told that this one is good. Will be in PR in a couple of months and will give out more information :)

I would say Isla Verde Beach is the best in the San Juan Metro area. There are other options like Escambrón (5 min. taxi ride) and the one besides the Conrad Condado Plaza (7 mins). Isla Verde is about 15minutes away but worth the extra ride. There are no taxi stands there so be sure to make arrangements for pickup. One option you have while in Isla Verde is to walk up to the Courtyard Marriott resort (it's the first building you see along the beach). Taxis always ready and waiting there.
