lakelorain Posted March 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2014 We were there on Bermuda Day a few years ago. There was a race that ended at the pier. Traffic was terrible. Our tour van had to drop us off on the opposite side of the bridge from the ship because it couldn't get through. If you are there the day of the race make sure you get back to the ship early. On the other hand, it was a fun day to be there. Lots of activities and festivities.

Bob&Barb Posted March 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I've looked at a few websites, and it seems Monday, May 26th IS Bermuda Day this year. It looks like transportation will run on the Sunday schedules. As for the shops, those with holiday trading licences, should be open from 1 - 6 p.m. This will be our first full day in Bermuda so we've booked a tour with a private guide. It may be that while the public attractions and beaches are open, the holiday crowds and reduced bus & ferry schedules will make it slower to get around. njhorseman Posted May 19, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 19, 2014 can anyone from bermuda confirm this are the parades and all activities on that Monday? One of our posters from Bermuda already confirmed that the holiday activities will be on Monday, 5/26: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=42738241&postcount=1 "Just to clarify: The true date for Bermuda Day is May 24th but, since that is a Saturday this year, the public holiday, and all the events that happen then, will be on Monday May 26th. Saturday May 24th is likely to be just a regular Saturday, apart from the fact that it is the start of a long weekend holiday that marks the Official Beginning of Summer here in the Somers Isles!"
