My husband and I are going on our first cruise April 9th out of Charleston, SC, we will be driving the morning of down there and we're wondering what time to get there? What time can we park the car and line up to get on the ship?

We sailed from Charleston about 2 1/2 years ago. I think it was about 10:30am that we were allowed into the parking facility. As I reecall, we checked in about 12:15 or so, but we had a suite which got us on the priority line. Our cabin was ready about 1:30.

Carnival now has something where for an extra fee (of course), you get to board first and your cabin is ready when you board.

Most lines will let you board around Noon and the Lido Deck will be serving lunch. I would imagine if you plan to arrive in Charleston by 11:30 you should have plenty of time. I would plan on arriving not less than 3 hours before sailing.

My advice also.
