How exactly do you get to the Guest Services desk from the point of initial boarding.

(I want to get Vibe passes).

You will board on deck 7. You'll need to go down to deck 6 and make your way to the atrium, deck 6 forward.

So...how was it? did you take any of the Cake Boss decorating classes? How was the food? How were the ports?? How was the food? Was it as salty as some people have said? Hope you had a great time! Our cruise on the Getaway is April 5th!

Could you tell me about the classes offered in the gym please?

Also, the cost?

Ty

I went to the gym daily (it seemed quite small, surprisingly), and I did see the table where the sign up sheets for the classes were (there was a VERY popular spin class that everyone was going to daily). BUT I am sorry I didn't notice the prices.

Sorry I can't help.

Guests services is just one floor away from the area you enter the ship. Just go down steps or elevator. Wasn't a big ordeal. We did get vibe passes (and did the cabana). Vibe was well worth it, the cabana not so much. BECAUSE Vibe is relatively sedate and secluded to begin with; the cabana was a wasted expense for us.

I am not helping much here (sorry)...I do know that 300 was the maximum weight on the drop slide. I am not sure about minimums. I did notice some very small children going on one of the smaller slides.

Do you know if all slides have a height and weight reqirement? What is it? Hoping our 3 yr old can go on some small/med ones with us.

Thanks!

I didn't do anything Cake Boss. I thought the food was VERY good; I came into my first NCL experience with low expectations (as not to be disappointed). The food in the buffet was especially good for a large ship. I thought most of it was excellent. We went to the steakhouse and it was good. We did not care for the italian restaurant (thought it mediocre). We thought Shanghais was *EXCELLENT* (I love Asian, they do dumplings, egg rolls, noodle dishes). It was so good we went three times.

The ports were nice. We researched beaches (here on cruisecritic) and took cabs to each one for a cheap and relaxing day.

I don't have pics of the menus, BUT I have seen posts here with that information.

We did advance reservations for the restaurants, but learned that you can just get them on the ship (from what others said).

Do you happen to have any pics of the menus? Was it ok to make specialty dining reservations while on board or did things book up in advance.? Thanks!

Hi - I'd love to hear which beaches you went to; and if there were chairs/umbrellas (or shade), and facilities to change clothes?

I've done these ports many times and love them! St. Thomas has 3 beaches most cabs go to: Megan's Bay, Sapphire and Coki. To me, they are very similar, but you can snorkel off Coki. In St. martins, I always go to Orient Beach. Crystal clear water, $2 beers and every water activity imaginable. Some folks go to Mahopac to see planes right above their heads! In Nassau, I take the local bus and go to the Sheraton. You can just walk in and get a day pass. It's Cable Beach, and again, a full service beach. The Wyndam is right next door. Some folks go to Junkaroo.....enjoy!

St. Maarten we tried something new and went to Dawn Beach. There was a bar and facilities; not official changing area but you can do that. Umbrellas and chairs for rent. No entrance fee.

St. Thomas- my favorite beach Maegans Beach (yes to facilities, $4 entry fee, no umbrellas that I saw). Bring beach towel.

I like to sing karaoke. Do you know if they will let you bring your own disc's?

We skipped the karaoke bar, but the sounds coming out of it were not pretty! You would have been the hero if you can sing! Eeeeeeek! :p

Was there an outside eating area for the garden cafe? I really miss that on these bigger ships.

Yes (and no). Not a free open air area as would be on the aft; but there is an area outside but within the windowed off area, if that makes sense.

...Yes I think it does make sense. You know what I mean about how the older ship designs have the aft eating area all the way to the back of the buffet area. I really miss that. But I do love the big mega ships!!!

We could hear the folks next door but they were loud and a family of 4. Wasn't a huge issue.

We could smell smoke from the casino in nearby venues, like outside the French restaurant and the hibachi restaurant. There is some "in the atrium" seating for those restaurants and you can smell it from the casino. I didn't like that but dealt with it
