We are arriving mid afternoon for TA sailing 4/16/14

Staying at the Ft Lauderdale Best Western on State Road

 

Any close by shopping for last minute items and wine?

Restaurant recommendations?

 

Transportation for 9 to the port ?

I think you mean SR 84. There is Winn Dixie, Big Lots, and Big Daddy Liquor. For dining, Old Heidelberg is fun.

We are staying at this hotel next week. I did a Google map search and right near the hotel is a strip plaza with a Winn Dixie grocery store- they sell wine, several other shops, a sports bar called Slackers and a few other fast food locations. They offer transportation to Port Everglades for $8-outside vendor but we are going to POM so we are using QLS, since they have earlier pick up a and we have FTTF, cost is only $12.50 pp but we only have 7, might be even cheaper for you with 9.

No ignorance- QLS is Quality Limo Service- they are a transportation carrier located in FLL (Fort Lauderdale) who service both FLL & POM (Port of Miami).

 

FTTF is actually an acronym used by Carnival for Faster to the Fun- it's labeled an excursion but it gives you earlier access to the ship (boarding right after Platinum & Diamond guests), direct access to your cabin (when they are normally not ready until 1:30), delivery of your luggage early (prior to muster drill normally), access to VIP line at Guest/Customer Service, priority tendering to ports (no waiting in lines).

Ive stayed at that Best Western before and it was great and we are staying there again in May. There is a Winn dixie and a liquor store and a payless shoes and a dollar type store. There is a dunkin dounts down the road and a wendy's and a Mcdonalds is in the Bw parking lot
