To those who have done the American cruise. What is there in the way of excursions from the American and Canadian ports?

We know we have a well travelled wheelchair user amongst us!

This about disabled friendly excursions.

Hi, are we talking about not being able to walk up the stairs of a coach? I use a mobility scooter but I can get on a coach. We were on Aurora doing that cruise last year. Which BTW was fantastic. I did not look at the adapted bus tours as we tended to just get off and wander. In Halifax we were berth in a commercial dock and had to shuttle into the main are however it was very tide reliant and we could not get off until early afternoon. They had a special bus then. There was also a shuttle in Boston and I am sure there was an adapted one but we just used the coach and the scooter went underneath. All the other ports were walkable from the ship. If you want I can do you a more detailed answer at another time.

Thanks dai, my wife can no longer walk so has to use the wheelchair.

We need the transport for wheelchair accessable. As you know, they only release

Details of accessable excursions close to the departure time. I really do not know why, when you can see the others, or examples of them on the site right now.

Anything you can tell me about this trip would be helpful. It would be aurora

September 2015, it has one new port in Canada, the last one. Cruise

R515 the only reservation is all those sea days. Thanks, mike.

The only one that comes to mind is the NASA space center (from Port Canavarel). If you like 6 hours looking a spaceships, that is. American rules being what they are, they're fairly sure to be wheelchair accessible. Most of the other ports, we went independently or were on a boat trip which probably wouldn't have worked out for you.

The eastern seaboard.

Are you doing Newport RI as they have to tender there and you will not get off.

Sorry just thought of that.

That is right dai, if we decide to do this cruise. Yes I know about the tender port

Or ports. Always a bone of contention, and always check the cruise schedule

Before booking. Someone said there are no wheelchair friendly excursions

On the American cruise. Find it hard to believe, when the Americans have

Legislation for access. Mike.

We are booked on Aurora Sept. 2015 to New York & Canada. Our daughter uses a wheelchair fulltime & were also wondering about trips. As said excursions aren't released till about 6 weeks prior. Was thinking of trying to hire a wheelchair adapted taxi in New York. We know there is one port where we can't get off. noggin111
