Our family is cruising on the Pearl to Alaska this summer. We are staying in the large three bedroom suite, #14000 in the Haven. What extras do we get staying in the Haven? Is there a private restaurant or bar for us? What else is included that is not provided to the other cabins? I am really unclear as to what is available to us.

Second question, should we tip over and above the tip required by NCL? There will be 6 of us in the room. thank you for your help.

There is no private restaurant or bar like on newer ships. As suite guests you will be able to eat suite breakfast and lunch that are served in the same venue that serves as Cagney's steakhouse for dinner.

Here are the suite amenities: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=38233438&postcount=6

The concierge and butler are not covered by the Service Charge automatically charged for all passengers, so you should tip if you use their services.

We stayed in that suite a few years ago - you are going to love it. In addition to the butler and concierge, we also tipped the room steward and the attendant that took care of the furniture each day in the private cabana area by the jacuzzi. We just felt like we received great care by these two crew members and gave them a tip even though they participate in the daily service charge pool. Tipping is entirely up to you based upon the level of service you think you receive.

Most of the cabins in the Haven are the 2 BR suites. You are in the Garden Villa. 3 BR and large living area. Your suite and the OS get 3 bottles of booze. And even more attention than the other suites. Not alot, but you are after all in the most expensive cabin on the ship.

Biggest perk is Cagneys for breakfast and lunch.

Scroll down the page, or search on BUTLER and you will find lots more about tipping, what they do, etc.

I don't know where to start. You will not need a special restaurant as you can dine inside the Garden Villa anytime you want. Your butler will spoil you. The concierge will make sure that anywhere you want to go will be arranged. Yes expect to be spoiled and expect to pay for it with generous tips to the butler, concierge, and even extra for your cabin steward.
