Celebrity Select Dining

We sailed on the Infinity in March and had select dining. We found the tables so close together that the waiters would have to walk around another table to gain access to the table being served. Tables of ten were placed lengthwise in front of the windows. The waiters would have to pass food and drinks down the table as they could not reach the diners in the back.

We have enjoyed select dining on several previous cruises, including the Infinity, but will probably not book it in the future. The waiters are spread to thin, the room felt very crowded and we had to wait 15 plus minutes for our table to be filled on more than one occasion. The waiters were busy and doing there best but clearly had to many tables to provide the personal service we experienced in the past.

Was that the cruise affected by norovirus, that could explain the poor service if they were short staffed. Our cruise on her in Feb was fine.:D

Yes, norovirus did appear part way through the cruise. The problem seemed to be that the tables were pushed so close together that the waiters could not walk around them. The table for 10 seemed to be moved from one day to the next. I was on the ship in May and did not experience this problem in select dining.

Whatever the reason, it is a shame that they provided a poorer service. Hopefully it was a one of and not a sign of things to come.:D
