Breakaway Bermuda Casino

Recommended Posts

OK, I understand that Bermuda now permits an onboard casino to open after 9pm on ships docked overnight.

Has NCL confirmed they intend to do so this summer? I am assuming they won't pass up this revenue generating opportunity despite the need to pay a licence fee to Bermuda.

Considering Kevin Sheehan told them last year if they didn't allow gambling he couldn't guarantee the Breakaway would even go to Bermuda this year, I don't think you have to wonder. The casino will be open at 9PM.

There has been no official announcement from the Bermuda government of the start date, but I am assuming it will start with the RCI EoS visit on 4/7,8. EoS will be the first cruise ship to visit Bermuda for the start of the cruise ship season. We should know soon.

But just because RCI does it doesn't mean that NCL will do it as each ship has to pay to allow it~ so we'll need to wait until the first NCL ship goes~

I guess if you want to wait for an absolute definitive answer when the first ship NCL sails you can.;) All the cruise lines have been asking for years to have the casinos open so why would NCL decide not to have theirs open? What Peg013 posted is right on.:)

  • 3 weeks later...

I recieved an email from the Celebrity Blue Chip club and they will be opening their casino's during the approved hours in Bermuda this summer. I am still trying to find out if NCL will though. I have not seen or heard anything yet.
