MaryPoppinz Posted July 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2005 There is probably a better way to post the coordinates or link to the location, but I don't know how to do it. But, if you want to locate it, too, hopefully this will help: W 76 (degrees) 10' 33" N 24 (degrees) 38' 10" If you zoom out, there was a Princess ship offshore on the day the satellite image was taken. :)
ToplessPony Posted July 28, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2005 That is so COOL!!! Thanks for the address. I searched and searched and couldn't find it on my own. Typed in the location you gave under search and it "flew" me right there! Scott

ToplessPony Posted July 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2005 You can also download and install Google Earth. Type in the address from Mary and hit search. Will bring you right to Princess Cay's. Kinda neat looking around Ft. Lauderdale too. Great way to see where your hotel is in relation to the port and airport! Here's a shot from Google Earth of Princess Cays: www.expertpc.net/princesscays.jpg Thanks again Mary!!!!!
ToplessPony Posted July 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2005 Pretty neat with the Google Earth program. You can zoom down far enough to see the mini golf area and the pools on the ship. I can see this is going to be eating up a lot of my free time! :) :)
MaryPoppinz Posted July 28, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted July 28, 2005 Yes, it's a bad, bad, crack-bad habit. :) Once you start..... It took me awhile to find it, but I had seen the location plotted on one of the navigational maps on a ship one time, so I had a general idea of where to look on the island. hockey072 Posted July 29, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 29, 2005 Very nice find! I was looking for this about a month ago and gave up. Google Earth is amazing.
peterv Posted July 29, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2005 Who else has used this to find ships sitting in the ports? So far I can see the QE2 at Long Beach, one of the ?ation ships in Ocho Rios, New York, Ft Lauderdale, San Juan. Cozumel. Some of them are tough to figure out when they aren't high-resolution, but you know there is a ship there. Cheers, Peter
