Susiecruisey Posted April 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I just got back from the sunshine and the serenity pool and main pool were both fresh water now. Has carnival done this on all ships or just the one. I hope it's on all of them amazing

vols_159 Posted April 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I'm suprised by this. Jh has said in the past they drain and clean the pools each night and refill while out at sea because of certain laws.. So wouldn't they all have to be salt water Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Almost Packed Posted April 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 11, 2014 I don't mind the saltwater at all. It's better then all the chemicals being added IMO. But I know a couple of weeks ago, the Conquest was still salty.
KPfromCT Posted April 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Honestly, we have never been in the pools on Carnival. Not sure why:confused: However, we DO use the hot tubs.:D Why would the Sunshine be freshwater, but the rest, salt? Anyone? Seems odd.....
IResQU Posted April 11, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Is this true??? Could it be??? Now I don't care if the pools are saltwater, however, I would LOVE for them to be WARM! It is always to darn cold to get into the pool! (unless you are under 16, kids seem to have that ability to swim in the artic waters!) My hope is, if they are fresh, maybe they will be warm, but not too chemically treated... Either way, I will find out in a week!!!:D:D:D
JBobbyJ Posted April 11, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Hi, Yes, my son loved the freshwater pool on the sunshine- the ity bitty teeny weeny freshwater pool... But, we are wondering about the Dream... Fresh or Salt? What about the water slides? I would not like to have salt water sprayed in my eyes... k2excursion Posted April 11, 2014 #15 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Hi, Yes, my son loved the freshwater pool on the sunshine- the ity bitty teeny weeny freshwater pool... But, we are wondering about the Dream... Fresh or Salt? What about the water slides? I would not like to have salt water sprayed in my eyes... On the Dream: The pools are saltwater, the waterslides use fresh water. Some ships still use saltwater for their waterslide: the ships that don't have Waterworks (Conquest class, Triumph class, Elation, Paradise). As far as I know, all ships except Sunshine have saltwater for the pool.

near the beach Posted April 11, 2014 #17 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Actually seems odd that the Sunshine has non sea water when all of the rest don’t. Are the hot tubs fresh water also? Sea water pools are refilled nightly. I wonder how often the Sunshine’s pools get refilled with fresh water.
TPFKAH Posted April 11, 2014 #18 Share Posted April 11, 2014 At least the saltwater pools are refreshed each day. Is it the same water all the time in the freshwater pool?

klaner64 Posted April 11, 2014 #20 Share Posted April 11, 2014 I was curious about the freshwater pool so I searched around and found this link: https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/the_fleet/Sunshine/sunshine.ashx I'm not sure how up to date this information is but it says the pool on lido deck is saltwater. When was Sunshine upgraded? Maybe this changed.
