Prada Cowboy Posted April 12, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 12, 2014 Yes the budget is still somehow right! I'd say after cruising on all if them above, Oceania had the best food, followed by SeaDream then Seabourn & Regent, then Crystal followed by Celebrity & SilverSea, Holland America & Disney, RCCL & Princess & Cunard, Carnival, Costa, NCL & MSC as the last 2! Maverine Posted April 12, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 12, 2014 Take AQ or a suite and go to Blu. You can get a decent steak there every day if that is what you are looking for. Like a lot of people we like the food in Blu very much. Don't care about escargot every day or white gloves. Food is so much to the specific liking of a single person. What's great for somebody might be gross for somebody else ( f.e. Escargot ). So for me leave the price where it is and if you want something "more" you can either go to a special restaurant or choose a "luxurious" line. Rare TLCOhio Posted April 12, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 12, 2014 I also have had no complaints about the food. I doubt if $5 a day would make much of a difference considering how the price of food has has been going up crazy lately!!!!!:eek::eek: Great above points by this smart poster. Food prices are going up, UP, UP!! $5 for a whole cruise is not going to buy that much in the overall scope of things and with ALL of the various costs it takes in running and staffing such a large ship. As noted in the live/blog below, we got off of the Solstice in February. No big "problems" for us on this ship and sailing. Compared to our first sailing on the Solstice in June 2011 in the Med, there might have been a slight "adjustment" down in food quality, but it is hard to gauge and quantify exactly. Nothing was "bad" or terrible. Check out these postings for more info/background on this nice ship, its entertainment, food options, etc. THANKS! Enjoy! jgreenwo17 Posted April 12, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 12, 2014 We have all read how the dining room menu has been downgraded in past years. If we were charged an additional $5.00 more per cruise passenger ticket. This additional amount to go directly towards the main dining room menu, would you think it would improve the quality of food currently served? Not sure what the daily amount Celebrity allocates to the MDR in 2014 dollars, but I am sure an additional $5.00 per person would greatly assist. Would you be willing to pay $5.00 more? If someone knows how to set up a vote thread it would be interesting to see the results. Comments! Looks like a trap. Is X fishing here?

This is the solution for the OP. Having only been on X once and was lucky enough to get Aqua Class for a song, Blu has the best food that I have had on any of my 13 cruises. I still have the pictures (food porn) of all of our dishes from Blu.
