Motleu Posted April 20, 2014 Author #77 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Apparently there is a water taxi that will take you directly from the pier to Columbus Cove. We were told that it only runs for an hour or so but we couldn't get much info on it The beer shack!

cruzinlady1947 Posted April 20, 2014 #80 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Getting closer! We made it! 16 months of waiting! I believe the long large hose is the fuel line I am really enjoying your review. One thing I noticed and I've also seen it on other reviews, is that is looks like there are no deck chairs on the Promenade deck. Is this because of the muster drill? Or don't they ever have any deck chairs on the Promenade deck. That is my favorite spot to sit and read and watch the world go by. Just looks so odd without any chairs. Love your pictures and review. Thanks. Gwen :)

I have many pics so I am sure I will have photographic evidence! Thanks for following along!

Motleu Posted April 21, 2014 Author #89 Share Posted April 21, 2014 Time for some commentary on the MDR: This was the first cruise in some time that we ate every dinner in the MDR. Normally we hit Windjammer or Portofino but not this time. Bogdan was the head waiter, Eugene from the Phillipines was our waiter and Goodwin from India was our assistant waiter. They were all fantastic. On past cruises the head waiter never even stopped by our table to say hello. Bogdan made it to our table every night and even prepped the tiger shrimp and lobster for us. He chatted for awhile and we appreciated that. Needless to say we gave him a nice tip. Eugene and Goodwin were simply amazing. They were always available and corrected any problems we had immediately. They prepped to go dinners for us for a couple of the kids when they wanted to be in AO and both performed numerous magic tricks that had the kids mesmerized. Kudos to both of them and they were rewarded for their great service. I have pics of them toward the end of the review. As I mentioned the food was pretty good. A couple of hits and misses but there was always at least a few items that were always very good. We aren't very picky but are kids are picky as heck (aren't they all!) and they all found something they liked. So once again from me the MDR gets a thumbs up! Motleu Posted April 21, 2014 Author #90 Share Posted April 21, 2014 Some ship pics: The two glass awnings in the middle of this pic (one in the front and one in the rear) protect the entrance to the windjammer area on deck 11. There are 2 gigantic revolving doors that spin and you step in and slowly walk forward as the door rotates. This is simply the most annoying doorway I have ever been through! The door stops if anyone gets too close and then you must wait for the sensors to move the door again. And the kids were always dashing into it setting off the sensors. On a number of days the door wasn't working. RC - get rid of that door! (I don't know if I have a pic of the door itself but if so I will post it along the way)

Motleu Posted April 22, 2014 Author #97 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Jamaica is very expensive in terms of excursions. We decided to walk around the port area (very antiseptic and not very Jamaican) but most of our group wanted to spend the day on the ship. I wanted to booze it up at Margaritaville! How original! I go to Jamaica just to go to Margaritaville! Oh well, I had fun anyway! It was a very windy day My niece eating coconut for the first time
Motleu Posted April 22, 2014 Author #98 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Just a tip - If you get a coconut make sure it is cold. The juice/water on the inside is nasty when it is warm!!!
mickev99 Posted April 22, 2014 #99 Share Posted April 22, 2014 So where are the pics of Margaritaville? Is it situated so that my kiddos can swim in the pool while I booze it up and still watch them?
