I have always cruised with the missus and therefore I always register my card when we board. With Celebrity and all other cruise lines I have sailed with.

Now, my mother hopes to go on here first cruise soon with one of her friends.

Are they both allowed to register a credit card each when they board? therefore each paying for themselves - my mother does not drink so will be spending very little on board.

Or will they have to just register one card and check the bill at the end of the cruise and try to decide who ordered what and where - a bit awkward to say the least?

Absolutely. No problem whatsoever.

Once onboard, or at check in you might want to go to the customer relations desk and make sure there are two established accounts for each of you. Last year on Princess, me and a buddy cruised together and about midway through the cruise we discovered that all of my expenses were being charged to his card! It was easily rectified though.

They will establish the separate accounts during the online check-in process so advise them to be aware of who they are entering information for. In my two experiences so far with this, only one person was sent luggage tags. The envelope contained tags for both people but they were not mailed separately.

Going one step further, can they apply 50% of the cabin'e OBC to each person's account at the beginning of the cruise?

Yes, but sometimes it takes a few days for the OBC to post so you might need to wait until it posts to one account before splitting it to other accounts. I have even moved OBC to another cabin....
