Celebrity Summit Club54???

Looking for information on Club 54. Do we need reservations? Or is this instead of our dinner? Leaving on the Summit out of NJ in May 2014. Thanks.

54 Below is a Caberet Show Club in N.Y.C.

 

The Summit has different performers from this Club on the ship each week.

 

It is a Cabaret style show singing. Some of the stars are well known

Some people like these shows and some do not.

 

It is one person on the stage performing and the cruise director asking questions.

Hi,:) I sailed to Bermuda last summer and saw a wonderful singer.

No reservations needed and no, it is not instead of dinner:eek:....it is

a show. The gal who preformed on my sailing was Kerry Butler who

had been in HAIRSPRAY on Broadway...she is terrific:D

 

In my case, the Cruise Director did not ask questions....he had nothing

to do with it....except maybe introduce the singer.;)

 

Oh, it is called 54 Below:)

I heard they are going to announce the new line up at the beginning of May.

 

Last year, we had Marin Mazzie. She was fantastic. Now she is starring in Bullets Over Broadway in NYC.

 

I hope we have someone great for our June 29th sailing.

We're on the 5/4/14 Bermuda sailing on the Summitt. Do you know what time the 54 below shows are? Since I'm told they are in the Celebrity Theater and not the Showroom are they at different times than the main shows?

I'd love to hear this info too (and am also on the 5/4 sailing). A lot of these people are major Broadway stars. We're lucky to have them.

it was......it was 8 months ago:eek:....but it was in the Main Theater,

I do remember that part;).......and not sure what showroom you are

referring to?.....Summit has the Main Theater....and a couple of

other lounges but nothing I would consider a "showroom".

What amazing timing for this post! I was just going to post a question about this, wondering if the 54Below shows were going to happen on the Summit again this season. Can't wait to see the schedule!

I believe the Celebrity Theater is a much smaller room where they show movies and sometimes where the speakers hold their seminars and is advertised as where 54 Below will be held. The original concept of 54 Below is to have a very small room where you are very close to the entertainers. I've been to it in NYC and it is very nice. Either way it should be fun with some very good B'way entertainers.

I am pretty sure that last year the performances were at the same times as other theatre shows. In addition on one of the sailings the performer did an additional talk back session one sea day afternoon on the way back to NJ.

I hope Celebrity is listening and that these shows will start up again with our May 4 sailing! That was one of the main drawing points for me on this cruise.

No. At least on the 2 cruises we did that had 54 Below.

 

They will have 2 shows but on the same night. One at 7 PM for Second Seating and one at 9:00 PM for Early seating. Usually after the 9:00 PM show the CD will do a Q&A with the performer.

 

I did read on Cruise Critic that some of the 54 Below performers came back and sang again in a show with the Celebrity Singers that was held in the afternoon one day. But we did not experience that on our two sailings.
