New Ship in Galveston

Carnival is bringing a third ship to the Port of Galveston beginning Feb. 15, 2015! The newly refurbished Carnival Freedom will be sailing Saturday to Saturday with pretty much the same itineraries as Magic. Then it looks like in 2016 it will begin 4 and 5 day cruises to Progreso and Cozumel. Good business news for the city of Galveston!

Interesting...

The timing of the change to 4-5 days itineraries seems weird.

Makes me wonder if they will pull Triumph somewhere else and send another dream class or newer ship there in 2016.

Currently they have one ship doing 7 day, and one doing 4-5 day trips

Feb 2015 they'll have two ships doing 7 days and one doing 4-5 days

It seems odd that they would move one of those doing 7 day trips to 4-5 day trips and keep the current ship there doing 4-5 day trips also. Sounds to me like another ship is headed that way!

We shall see if TX can support CCL & RCI in Galveston and Princess & NCL in Houston.

RCCL is also changing to a larger ship, Navigtor will be replaced by Liberity in Nov 2015

it would be nice if they would have the Freedom do the 10-11 day cruises year round that the Triumph will star experimenting with

 

More ships more competition better pricing for all cruiselines:D
