Taxi from dock to downtown St. Thomas

Going on NCl Gem next March our second time there by NCL We were talking and it was mentioned that you have to take a taxi from the dock to downtown. Is this true I do not remeber doing this. We will be going to Coconuts that area

Some people walk the 1.5-2 mile route to town, but taxis will charge $4 pp each way.

It's not a bad walk along the waterfront. I can be hot, though. I'd pay the $4 to ride in the open air taxi.

You can take the free trolly to the yacht haven,it will save a few steps. :D
