Adults only cabanas anywhere on any beach? Golf course recommendations needed pls!

Hello everyone,

I read somewhere that there is a section of some beach that is Adults only and I'm hoping someone could tell me if that is true or not?

Also, we'd like to play golf on one of our days in Bermuda and looking for any recommendations from anyone who has played there on any? We're decent golfers but this being vacation a Par 3 is fine, it's the view and beauty of the course we're more interested in..

Any help most appreciated, thank you,

Tanya

I'm not aware of any adults only beaches in Bermuda.

For a championship golf course you could play Port Royal or Riddell's Bay. There's a par 3 course at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel.

Thank you, have you played both? Just looking for the best views and most authentic Bermuda experience.

I believe it was just a section of a beach where they had a bunch of cabanas for Adults only...my fingers are still crossed it's true:)

I gave up golf years ago...but if you go to their websites you'll get an idea of what the courses are like. Both Port Royal and Riddell's Bay are adjacent to water and should have some holes with water views.

The public beaches don't have cabanas, and there are only two hotels that I'm aware of that sell day passes to non guests, Coco Reef and Elbow Beach, and I haven't see anything about them restricting access to adults.

When you write 'Adults only', are you referring to topless?

If the beach had cabanas, it would not be a public beach, but a private beach where you would have to purchase a day pass. The 2 resorts in 2013 that offered day passes were Coco Reef Resort and Elbow Beach Resort.

No!! I most certainly do not mean topless ! I mean over a certain age, even 16or 18...just trying to avoid the young kids..I mean no offense by that it's just a personal preference.

I played, 3 years ago, the Ocean View golf course.

We choose it because it is a 9 holes par 35 on the water. Actually 3 holes are very close to the ocean, the rest is "regular" golf.

We went during a drought and the grass ( fairway)was not perfect but the greens were ok. Since we went late afternoon...I think we had a 3 o'clock start, it was very cheap to play.

We came across 2 or 3 roosters on the course and we had fun.

If you are an avid golfer and want a challenging course....then NOT Ocean view course.

If you want to play a fast round of golf in Bermuda to gain "bragging rights" with your friends ;) ...then go to Ocean View.

Have fun !!

Don't get your hopes up. The cabanas at Elbow Beach say nothing about an age limit. Snorkel Park also has some cabanas but nothing about an age minimum there either.

For those who want to know....

"Elbow Beach has undergone a change in management and we now offer a more private luxury resort experience to our hotel guests with exclusive use of our private beach. Therefore, we will no longer offer day passes or beach passes to cruise passengers or island visitors staying at other locations.

The public side of Elbow Beach is for use by the general public and is accessible via the Tribe Road just west of our hotel only with no concessions for umbrella or beach chair rentals."

They are still offering rentals of their Cabanas though as I have one booked while we are there on our cruise in June. The cabanas are spa cabanas and booked through them and they are $495 for up to 6 people for use from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. They include an air conditioned cabana which has fridge, music system, tv, shower, fruit and water and use of pool and beach.
