My Carnival Cruise planner told me that he was going to do something for me on my birthday...maybe even embarrass me, lol! Has anyone ever had anything special planned for them by a Carniva plannerl?? :D

I had my daughter's cabin decorated for her 18th birthday, which was the 3rd day of our cruise. It was a first cruise for all of us so we weren't sure what to expect.

She was so excited when she opened the door ... "How did they know?!!" I didn't have the heart to tell her until later that I had paid for it in advance...lol

I also had a cake delivered to our table in the MDR the night of her bday, and our waiters made a big scene and sang happy birthday to her. It was nice. [emoji4]

More than a few people have been disappointed after being told that.

What they do is put a notation on your file. Back in the day would get you a cake like the one you buy now to your table. I don't think anyone pays attention to those notations anymore. Probably don't have time.

So what I am saying is, if you want something special, you need to set it up yourself. Have someone tell your server and they will bring out a desert with a candle and sing if they can find the time.

For those that are claiming their TA did something for them, that does not belong on this thread because that is an entirely different thing.

In the "manage my cruise" section of Carnival's website you can choose for yourself if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, and put in the date. My birthday was the 4th and our cruise started on the 5th and I still got a piece of cake with a candle in it with singing since I had put it in the system.

I see it, but can't seem to edit it anyway.....

Is there some trick?

Agreed - we usually sail over our anniversary and have been told multiple times to expect a little special something. Nope, never. I figure the cruise is enough, but it's kind of annoying.

We did the Chet's table last year or our 15th anniversary, which was a pretty awesome way to celebrate, but we gave that experience to ourselves :-)

Next cruise: Carnival Breeze June 2014

We didn't hear any singing for birthdays or anniversaries on our cruise a few weeks ago. Did Carnival stop that?

They definitely still sing! I sailed on the Miracle a few weeks ago for my birthday and got sung to at least 3 times. Once at dinner 2 days before my birthday (guess the dining room folks got a little confused!), at dinner on my birthday, and one of the casino hosts tracked me down and sung to me in the casino. :o

It's under the "my guests" tab. There is a "modify" link under your name/address.

Thanks.

No "modify" link for me.

I have tried to edit it as part of the check in documents, too. It will let me change some things there but the special requests and medical info is not able to be changed there, either.

Thanks for trying, though!

Are you booked through a TA? I can't edit my own, my TA has to do it.
