Galveston highlights/parking

Recommended Posts

Leaning towards renting a car one-way when we get off our cruise in Galveston to fly out of Hobby. Rather than rushing back for an early flight, thought we should probably hang around and explore Galveston - the downtown area, Strand, etc. - at least for a few hours. Any suggestions what not to miss?? Also, how is parking? Is it all metered? Hard to find spots?

Appreciate any input . . . thanks!;)
