momesu Posted August 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2005 18 is what I understand. Also 18, with parental approval, for beer and wine.
steve20832 Posted August 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2005 from RCCL website... Rules and guidelines at our casinos: Admission Guests 18 years of age or older are welcome to play. Some Alaskan ports require a minimum age of 21. Last time I went on a cruise which was 12 years ago they didn't card anyone so I don't know if they do now. justaknucklehead Posted August 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2005 You mean she will turn 18 during your trip? From my understanding you are the age you are when you board the ship. Can anyone confirm this?
justaknucklehead Posted August 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2005 And you must provide your seapass card when you are hand paid on the slot machines.
donna915 Posted August 1, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2005 It says your age is whatever age you were the day you sailed. Stinks huh? I did see a blackjack dealer ask a boy for ID (he WAS 18 he just looked young) and I saw another dealer NOT card a girl who looked very young. Merion_Mom Posted August 1, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2005 On each of our cruises, they have been VERY strict about enforcing age restrictions for even BEING in the casino. And, as justaknucklehead pointed out, RCI considers your age on the date that you sail your age for the entire cruise. My daughter turned 18 on December 27, THE DAY THAT WE SAILED. Boy, was SHE happy! ;) Carol
stillababe Posted August 1, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2005 My son is 18 and was allowed to play in the casino. I think I have created a monster. He won 2nd place in the slot tournament, and he came in 4th place in the blackjack tournament. He's never played blackjack in his life, and learned during the quickie 15 minute lesson I gave him before he played the first round. (I lost by the way -- some teacher I am!) I think he was the youngest player in the blackjack tournament, but the slot tournament had a teen girl playing also. He was stopped a few times by the crew in the casino and asked for ID, but was never asked when he signed up for, or won, the tournaments, and he won cash for the slot tournament.
