Yes, they can be purchased before your cruise.

Go to NCL and log into your account, and look at Explore and Plan, then Gifts and More

Strangely, this must apply to some sailings and not others. It doesn't appear as an option on the website for me to purchase, so I called and they said I would have to do it over the phone. I wonder why?

If that's good info then the website is incorrect:

"Please note that the Ultimate Beverage Package cannot be booked online. Please call us at 1.800.327.7030 for assistance in placing your order."

You can browse to the drink packages, but that's as far as you'll get. They cannot be purchased online at this time.

There are more reasons to NOT do this in advance, than to wait.

* What if you change your mind, not in the mood

* What if you are on meds, and can not drink so much

* What if you wind up not going or miss the ship

vs.

Decide when you board and buy it then.

It's not available from the website, but you can call NCL to purchase it ahead of time. If you choose not to do that, there are "tables" set up when you board the ship to purchase it as well.

I believe that you can purchase it from any bar on board as well - on day one of the cruise.

If you purchase the ultimate drink package before your cruise starts are you charged taxes?

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Forums mobile app

No, you are not. There were some early reports of people being charged Florida sales tax if they purchased it on the ship prior to sailaway, but that no longer seems to be the case. Maybe NCL waits to actually ring it through until after they sail.

If purchased in advance, where does one go to get the sticker on their card?

I believe that they put the sticker on your card when you check in at the port.

Nope, just sailed on Getaway with "prepaid" (booking promo for suite) UBP and UDP - only UDP sticker was on the keycard when checking in, we had to visit a bar for the UBP.
