Is there a way to tell how booked a ship is? I know they lower prices in order to try to fill every ship, but some folks luck out by being on a cruise that isn't maxxed out. How can I tell in advance?

Not really. Short of just checking out availability by trying some dummy bookings. That sort of information typically isn't something that cruise lines publish (don't want others being aware of whether or not they are sailing full or not selling well).

We do trial bookings also.

A cruise is very empty if a double can book a triple or quad.

Cruises during the high season (usually school vacations) will usually be more crowded and full. Cruises during the low season will be emptier.
