Quebec Citadel

We arrive in Quebec at 8am. The changing of the guard at the Citadel is at 10am. I have heard there is a place from where you can watch this without buying a Citadel tour. Does anyone know where this is/how to get there?

Hello again !!!

 

In fact, the changing of the guard take place just before the gates that give you acce$$ inside the citadel. From 24th June to 1st Monday in September, visitors have free access to the changing of the guard. You will have to flow through a kind of narrow corridor with brick walls to get there. Almost 5 minutes walk to the door giving access to the citadel. On both sides of the gate there are the officers with a goat, you will not be able to missed it..!

Sounds like that even if we aren't able to get off the ship until 8:30 or 8:45, we still have a shot at getting there. I had read a number of posts on Tripadvisor saying that you had to be on line for a tour before 9am in order to see the changing of the guard.

 

Appreciate the tip.
