Rare mskaufman Posted May 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2014 We arrive in Quebec at 8am. The changing of the guard at the Citadel is at 10am. I have heard there is a place from where you can watch this without buying a Citadel tour. Does anyone know where this is/how to get there? holacanada Posted May 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) We arrive in Quebec at 8am. The changing of the guard at the Citadel is at 10am. I have heard there is a place from where you can watch this without buying a Citadel tour. Does anyone know where this is/how to get there? Hello again !!! In fact, the changing of the guard take place just before the gates that give you acce$$ inside the citadel. From 24th June to 1st Monday in September, visitors have free access to the changing of the guard. You will have to flow through a kind of narrow corridor with brick walls to get there. Almost 5 minutes walk to the door giving access to the citadel. On both sides of the gate there are the officers with a goat, you will not be able to missed it..! Good day and Enjoy Quebec city Holacanada Edited May 24, 2014 by holacanada Translation french to english !!!
Rare mskaufman Posted May 25, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2014 Sounds like that even if we aren't able to get off the ship until 8:30 or 8:45, we still have a shot at getting there. I had read a number of posts on Tripadvisor saying that you had to be on line for a tour before 9am in order to see the changing of the guard. Appreciate the tip.
