akacake Posted May 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2014 I have read a few threads about access to the bow on some ships. I am on the Zaandam next week, is the bow only open at certain times? If it is "unlocked" is it okay to go up there anytime?

jtl513 Posted May 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) On any HAL ship, the bow is only open on low-speed "scenic cruising" days ... Glacier Bay, Panama Canal, fjords, etc. I see on your itinerary that two of your Inside Passage days are marked as "CO" (scenic cruising) so the bow may be open those days, as well as the Tracy Arm fjord day. KirkNC Posted May 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2014 It is really up to the captain, if conditions are right, they will open it.
