Gambee, I need your help please, never ever did I have any difficulty in deciding my next cruise, maybe because it be our second year having a family cruise (all adults) and we want different things.

I realize this is a Carnival board but I don't know how to get in touch with you privately so everybody I just want you to know that I been on so many carnival ships and I truly loved the Dream and considering the Breeze only that I feel that the Royal Princess will fit everybody in our family, on the other hand, I loved the Dream and the Breeze is the sister ship....with this being said....

Gambee, I need you to suggest which ship is best for myself and my family, either the Breeze or the Royal Princess.

We enjoy very good food, we love specialty dining, we love listening to live bands, we enjoy comedy, we like to have late night snacks such as from midnight to 2am, we love sitting in a nice area having cocktails together and talking (we love the Allure's Champagne Bar), we want a good variety of items to eat in the lunch buffet. My sister and brother in law love sitting at the pool during the daytime, where the rest of us like walking around. Activities in daytime are not needed and we all love the casino late in the evenings.

Can you please tell me based on what I just said which ship would offer us that the best? Help Gambee lol

Have read through all of your other reviews and love them. Am on post #300ish so far, and have a question that I hope hasn't already been asked...what was the song that accompanied the sail away in Miami? It's very catchy!!

The song was provided to me from the youtube database of free songs, to be quite honest I don't remember the name. I tried zhasaming it, but still nothing. Sorry.

Well I haven't done Royal/Regal yet, I plan on doing them next winter. So at this point I cannot suggest anything, sorry. From what I gather the feel is very much like a country club. But I cannot go any further from there. But from what you say maybe Royal might be a better cruise for you than the Breeze.

But I did love the Breeze's sister ship Dream lol. My daughter says lets go to different ports and its an extra night longer, sounds good to me too, either way I go I know it be a wonderful cruise, there is no such thing as a bad cruise. I can't wait for your next review, reading your reviews is like actually being on the ship sort of.:D

I ate my burger, sat there for a little while and then decided to go to the room and drop off my 30 lbs carryon :D. It was heavy as hell!!! I had all the drinks in there and computer with camera equipment.

Ok folks so here is video tour from my cabin in the carnival Breeze.

Ok, lets see the cabin. I was overall satisfied with my cabin. I had a lido starboard balcony cabin, the location was just amazing. I have to admit that I did not understand the obsession over these rooms, but now I see why they are so popular. The location is just great, near the elevators, food, bars, serenity, water works… You name it and the odds is that you could get to that place in a minute or two.

As far as the room goes, please take this next paragraph with a grain of salt. This is only my opinion and nothing more. I honestly did not care for the room decor that much, I think of all my cruises this room was the one that seemed the most plain of them all. The bathroom decor was even worse, I did not care for the blue counter at all… However, the room is pleasant to the eyes and relaxing so that part is good. The one thing that I loved about the room was how spacious it was, I definitely felt that there was more space available when compared to X, RCCL and NCL. Disney however is still the largest by far!

But like I said, I did love my room. The fact that I did not care for the decor had no impact on the cruise, after all, I am not buying the room ;).

Oh I forgot, thermostats aboard ships work half of the time. They take long times to adjust and it takes me forever to find a temperature I enjoy. The Breeze was no exception, I think I adjusted the room temperature like 4 times a day :D, lol.

Hi Gambee..great review! DH and I were on same cruise with you (and fellow FB Breeze friend). We were on lido starboard 10275..just six cabins down from the double doors to pool area. We also loved lido..sooooo convenient.

Would love to sail on Breeze again some day..great ship and crew!

gambee I'm a long time cruise critic lurker. Used to cruise a lot when i was younger but once I hit the college age our family's vacation money went towards college (boo!) hope to be back in the cruising scene shortly.

I read reviews all the time, it's my way to "cruise" without actually stepping aboard a ship never have I read a more statisfying review than your reviews.

Never stop doing this please, you have such a gift of photography and narrating. Heck the cruise lines shiuld be paying for you to write these great advertising!

Can't wait for the next one!

Gambee...I was soooo determined to find DH and I somewhere in your pictures and sure enough I found us! LOL! You had a few shots of the main pool on Key West Day. DH was sitting by the ladder near the right side corner of the pool, and I was right there in the water talking to him. (your photos were taken up by the water park I believe). We can even see his mobility scooter where we parked it by the lounge chairs.

On that same day, we took our time getting off the ship, and we actually got to see the life boat drill. They had taken all the lifeboats off the ship's port side and into the water and the crew was doing a drill out in the water. It was interesting to see. We have some photos of it, so let me know if you'd like me to send some to add to your collection.

As far as your comments regarding the "Divas" show and the bare stage: the playlist productions is relatively new for Carnival. For many many years, like other cruise lines, they had lovely productions of beautiful costumes and sets for their variety type shows. To save costs, they came up with Playlist productions with use of those screens which allows them to change out the backgrounds, etc. I don't care for it at all but understand the cost-savings. I just find it a bit boring and cannot compare the their original style of shows. Last year on Carnival Valor, I took the behind the scenes tour and got to see the dressing rooms with all the costumes and changing areas (when it was still the older-type show). It's really a shame they don't have them anymore. A lot of cruisers don't care for Playlist.

I also wanted to ask, since we were in same hallway on Lido, did you have Sergio for your cabin steward? We had him and he was wonderful and so friendly.

I'm going to finish your review on Allure as we have that booked for our twins 2016 college grad gift cruise celebration.

Also..I am sorry for your loss.

Meant to also add...

With regard to your comment and rating for the food and slow service in MDR: We had late dining and our service was lightening fast. As a matter of fact of my four Carnival cruises, I was never in and out of the MDR so fast! Maybe more people went for the anytime dining where it was busier. With that said, our waiter said the cruise did not sell out as well which probably explained why we were surrounded by many empty tables in the MDR and we were the only ones at our table for a table of six! Not because they were at other venues..but because we were really the only ones booked there.

Also, due to this cruise not being sold out, I think that is why it attributed to not so many crowded areas / not very long lines and quick elevators. I've read reviews here on CC where those who went on previous Breeze cruises reported the opposite, so I just guess it depends on time of year and how well cabins sell, etc.

I also wanted to say I am sorry I didn't get to meet you. I did have the chance to meet a few of our roll call/FB members. It's hard to do all of the things you want to do on a cruise and be everywhere on the ship.

I loved the Breeze. It met up with my expectations in every way. I was very impressed with how well maintained she is, the upbeat and friendly attitudes of the crew, the new design, and new venues. I hope to sail on her again. Those who snub Carnival really need to experience this ship.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review.

Hey gambee, love the review but I need to catch up since we went on an 8 night cruise on the…. You guessed it the Breeze!!!! We absolutely loved the ship and the staff, however we have nothing to compare it to since this was our first ever cruise.

We got to the port around 11 even though the guy at the hotel tried to convince me that they would not let us get on the boat until 1-3 and we would be sitting around for hours… Well we got there around 11, placed in group 4 and on the boat by 12! Burger and drinks in hand by 1215 and in our spa balcony room by 1245. Our room attendant was waiting outside all of the rooms to introduce himself. We informed him that we only had 1 beach towel and that one of the bathrobes had a stain, and gave him some extra tip money when we returned to our room later he had fixed it for us!!

MDR we only went 4 of the 8 nights, the nights we went we got there sort of early I guess we never waited more than 5 mins for a table, and all of the staff were wonderful, the food was great in our minds… we are not foodies

Buffet we only went for breakfast a few times…. I always went for the burrito, went once for dinner and said we would never go again.

The pools were packed every day and water was warm but the temperature never cooled down that week so I can see why everyone wanted to be in the pools and they never cooled down.

Shows were good, they brought a hypnotist on that week… boring.

Matt mitcham the CD was wonderful! You could tell he loved his job, he was always full of energy, told great stories, and was always out and about in the crowds, doing trivia, Q & A session, Hasbro, introducing the shows, bingo, dancing by the beach pool… he did everything!

Anyways that’s just some of the stuff I noticed while on the ship, can’t wait to read the rest of your review and continue on my cruising adventures!

After that I went one floor up and checked out the rope course, I never tried it out, not sure why. The area is really neat with pool tables, tennis tables, mini golf, fusbol, bar and even a hot dog stand.

Gambee, not sure when I first read one of your reviews, but I have loved them all. I have only sailed on NCL one time and it was an older ship, all the rest of my cruises have been on Carnival. So glad you decided to try the Breeze. She is currently my favorite ship. Thanks for taking all your time to do this. Just an FYI, you can order a bottle from room service when and if you run out in your room. Those in room drinks really help on the bar bill.

Barely into this review and I'm hooked! Just booked today to sail in 3 weeks. I liked the Dream last year but I'm already head over heels for the Breeze. Mostly based on the gorgeous photos in this review. Thank you!!!

I was finally able to finish your wonderful review, Gambee. I loved everything and am so glad that you enjoyed your Breeze cruise. So far, this is my favourite Carnival ship and I hope to cruise her again.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know this will not be an easy time for you and your mother and I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts in the days to come. Take good care of each other.

What ship did you do the transatlantic on? How was it?

No worries Ellen I am still waiting for that Martini :D

Gambee, so sorry to take so long to respond to your question, sometime life just gets in the way and I have finally just caught up this evening! First of all, please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your Grandmother, it's not easy to say final goodbyes to the people in our lives that make us who we are.

To answer your question, the Transatlantic was on the Independence of the Seas, 13 nights Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton, England. We had 3 Caribbean ports and then 8 nights at sea, which were AMAZING; calm seas (yes, even in the middle of the Atlantic!) plenty of activities and entertainment to keep people as busy as they might want to be. All in all it was GREAT - would I do it again? In a heartbeat! My Sister and I spent 4 days in unseasonably warm and mostly sunny London:) before flying home.

I can taste that dirty martini already . . . I will contact you in January before heading down to your neck of the woods and see if you might be available. We're doing the southern caribbean this time, 11 nights roundtrip Ft. Lauderdale!

Ellen

Yeah I been noticing the blue, I might have to pump the other color later one. She is a great camera ...I wish they came up with the illustration mode on those. We will see how it works out, maybe in a later model they deploy it.

Hi Gambee. Love your reviews. I also have an RX100. I was the first one to buy one from my local Sony store and all the employees wanted a full review from me.... Best point and shoot I've ever had... And that's coming from 25 years of owing pro and semi-pro SLRS.

Did you know you can turn ANY of your shots into illustration mode shots in the camera and do not have to take the photo in that mode? This way you get the best of both worlds ("normal" and illustration mode versions of your photos...)

Just in case you didn't know......

I read that in the past but never tried figured it out, I guess I just have to play with it a little more. I actually already the RX, while her results were good, they simply can't compete with the NEX line. I also sold the the NEX f3 and bought the new A6000, which is simply the new NEX 6.

Thank you for the heads up, ill go check that out when I get home. I am still getting accustomed to the new menu that is more like the Alpha system.
