The wife will have to comment on Messina, our next stop, as I decided to sleep in that morning, as I was on Messina before...

Will continue with the review tomorrow, as rest of pictures are uploading now...

White Russian is my usual "cruise drink" but...

I am going to be ALL OVER those B52's!

Don't be so hasty. White Russians are also awesome. I however seem to loose a day to hangovers with them.

Day 5

Messina

Oh my! Massive hangover again. I decided to stay on the ship again. Wife went out to town with friends and walked around a bit. We’ve been to Messina before, so I didn’t really regret not leaving the ship.

When they got back to ship, we got some sun loungers and stayed in the sun a bit. Then it started raining, so we went and hide inside and had few drinks.

Then change to dinner and Purple Bar followed.

Here are few random pictures of the ship.

They were doing a cooking display, and they would send the food directly to your table, a very nice touch...

Thank you for your review. We are going on the Splendida in September and it’s nice to see your pictures. We are considering buying the Allegrissimo package and have a few questions about it.

1. Are gratuities included in the price you pay on line (161 Euros / pax) or do we have to add it ?

2. I understand that the package includes choice of draft beers. What were the kind of beers available ?

3. How was the red wine ?

4. At dinner, do they bring wine by the glass or the bottle (I see you have pictures of bottles… is it the wine included in the Allegrissimo ?)

Thank you very much !

If you pre book it, then you dont pay and tips - 15%

if you book it whilst on board, you will have to pay the extra 15%

2. I understand that the package includes choice of draft beers. What were the kind of beers available ?

To be honest, I cant remember, but I think it was Heineken or Amstel, or both

3. How was the red wine ?

Red wine was good, better than the white in my opinion

4. At dinner, do they bring wine by the glass or the bottle (I see you have pictures of bottles… is it the wine included in the Allegrissimo ?)

Your choice, if you want by the glass, they will serve it that way, or, they will tell you, you can have a bottle, and they will keep it at there station for you

We just told them, to get us a bottle, and leave it by the table, and we will serve it ourselfs.

Day 6

Tunisia

Now, that was an interesting trip. Firstly we didn’t plan to leave the ship. Eventually we decided to go to town as a group.

After leaving the ship we walked about 10, 15 minutes to the La Goulette train station. It looked doggy and a bit scary. Tickets cost 1 euro per person to get to town, which is the last stop anyway.

They do take euro at the station in La Goulette, but please mind that they won’t take euro in town.

You have to get their currency to buy ticket. Sounds like a bit of scam going on, but more about that later on.
