solita Posted August 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Unfortunately, it was heavily damaged during Emily. They lost 2 palapas...thatched roofs over the restaurants. The beach area does have seaweed washing up so the water clarity isn´t all that great right now. I was out there on Saturday.

cruzn buckeye Posted August 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2005 Hi Solita... We are taking the tour to Passion Island in Sept. It is pretty expensive. I booked it because the beach and water is so clear and the tour operators were great there. We also like the Palapa covered restaurants. It provides some nice shade in that hot sun. However, I really don't want to go to a beach with a lot of seaweed. How do you think things will be by Sept.18?
solita Posted August 14, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 14, 2005 No way of really telling...a wind shift can change things alot even. I was out that way today and the water was still churned up with alot of sea grass.
NoNoNanette Posted August 14, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 14, 2005 Hi Solita- Were you the local who used to work at Passion Island? It sounds just lovely, but very expensive. Under normal-weather-circumstances, is it gorgeous? (Over the years, I've toyed with the idea of visiting, but the $$$$ scared me away!);)
