Sailing with granddaughter

Sailing to Alaska with our family on the Star Princess. (This will be our first time with them.) Our granddaughter is 3 1/2. What type of ID will we need to take her off and on the ship in the ports without her parents being with us? They'll be going on tours that she's too young to go on. Thanks!

You'll need her cruise card. That's it.

Yep...you can't get off the ship without your room "key"...and everyone gets one. Her parents will keep hold of it, as she's too young....just make sure they give it to you before they take off on their excursions!!

We had our granddaughter while sailing on the Summit in Bermuda and Bermuda Security wanted to see a BC and permission letter from the parents. We had the letter and the Bermuda officer called the ship to verify that we set sail with the BC.

Did you initially board in Bermuda? In all our cruises that is the only time we've had to show that much ID. In ports, taking the kids off the ship only needed cruise cards.
