Does Carnival ever offer the $50 pp deposit on cruises that are booked pretty far in advanced? I am planning our first cruise, with a group of friends, for summer 2015. The $50 deposit would really help a few of my friends if it is offered on cruises that far in advance. thank you!

I'm not sure I've ever seen the $50 deposit offered that far in advance. I just booked ES for Jan 2015 with a 1/2 price deposit promotion that ended a week ago.....

 

I would probably get a good PVP and let him/her know that I wanted to book ES with a reduced deposit and to let you know when any come up. Sometimes the reduced deposits aren't obvious on Carnival's website. I wouldn't have known about mine if it weren't for CC.

I'm pretty sure there's a promotion going on right now with $50 deposits that may cover next summer... When I clicked on the link in my email it gave me the option of up to April 2016

You can always do a mock booking and check that way.

Just be aware that after you do a $50 deposit, if you put in for a price drop, you usually need to immediately pay the remaining amount of a full deposit if you haven't reached payment date yet.

I tried doing the mock booking and it showed my deposit as the $250 pp. thank you all for your help.

I booked a month ago for March 2015 with ES at $50 pp.

You just have to keep watching...

The current 50 doesn't show for 2015. I tried to get one for May and bombed out. I'll have to keep my eye out and keep on saving at the same time for something.

Bumping this up for a related question...is the reduced deposit advertised somewhere? I don't think I've ever seen it. I'd love to be able to book more cruises in advance but at $500 a pop it ain't happenin :( Don't even get me started on that it should be a Platinum/Diamond perk :/

Yes. I booked a September cruise last January with the $50 deposit under early saver.

 

Normally I book last minute. But in this case I wanted a cabana at HMC (which always sell out) and needed certain cabins for my group, so I booked ES.

So far, the discounted deposits haven't made it to cruises for summer of 2015. I'm going to keep watching and hopefully they'll offer it for later cruises.
