Viking vs Regent? Really?

I think its a bit premature to start a thread comparing Regent with Viking Ocean cruises, don't you think??

We like both Regent and Oceania's "O" ships, and choose based on itinerary though we lean toward Oceania if we can get a PH (Regent's basic suites are far nicer), due to their superior food and amenities such as cooking classes and spa (we like to book our own excursions with other guests and wdon't drink more than one or two cocktails a day, so all-inclusive isn't a big deal). Viking's proposed ships don't appear to be competitive with either line. We'll see...

We won't be doing a comparison.

My husband sailed Royal Viking exclusively for years before we married.

When we started sailing on Radisson - he thought they were comparable and were extraordinarily happy with the line.

When we sailed Regent - we were happy much of the time.

When we sailed Viking River - we said No way. Same owner is Viking Ocean and we won't be sailing on that line.
