star65 Posted August 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Our only cruise so far was on Carnival where they auutomatically added tips to our sail & sign, I found this convenient and then we just tipped people who went above and beyond wth cash. Our 2nd cruise is booked on EOS is tipping handled the same? Thanks.
CruisinDawn Posted August 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2005 On our last cruise we were given a form to fill out if we wanted tips added to our seapass. You then just drop off the form in a box near the pursers desk. The last night you are given coupons to put in the envelopes at which time you can add additional cash. However, if you want to reduce a tip I think you have to do it 24 hours prior to departure so the morning before you get the coupons. steve20832 Posted August 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2005 It is on the RCCL website and they will also tell you on the ship what they suggest. I usually tip more since they do such a great job. I usually spend around $15 in tips per day per person. (non-suite, I'm too cheap for the nice rooms!) What are gratuity guidelines for cruises? So that you can thank those who have made your cruise vacation better than you could have imagined, we've developed these gratuity guidelines: Suite attendant:$5.75 USDa day per guest Stateroom attendant:$3.50 USDa day per guest Dining Room Waiter:$3.50 USDa day per guest Assistant Waiter:$2.00 USDa day per guest Headwaiter:$.75 USDa day per guest Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages. Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served. Envelopes for gratuities will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Gratuities may be paid in the following ways: Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent.Added to your onboard SeaPass account.Paid in cash at the end of the cruise
alexandernc Posted August 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I was thinking I had read somewhere that you could get cash in the casino to give cash tips if you choose. Is there a charge for this and do you just tell them you are planning to use it for tips?
Merion_Mom Posted August 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2005 are suggested tipping amounts in the cruise documents?Yes, that information is printed in your cruise documents. It's everywhere. :)I was thinking I had read somewhere that you could get cash in the casino to give cash tips if you choose. Is there a charge for this and do you just tell them you are planning to use it for tips? Yes, as of today :D, you can still go to the cashier's window in the casino, get up to $2000 per day, and they will just put it on your SeaPass card as "entertainment." :D They don't need to know where you are going to put that cash when you walk away from their window.
