JTJ Posted August 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2005 If a thread gets poofed does your post count go back to what it was before you posted on it?
gkm Posted August 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2005 No, you get to keep your post number. Garry

ilionite65 Posted August 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I was just doing some "research" on a poster who has been posting recently with really negative comments. I was curious about his/her posting history. The poster has 20 something posts, but I was unable to call any of them up with the exception of 1. Most of the threads he/she posted on had been pulled. Based on that it seems that pulled threads do not affect your post count.
terri23 Posted August 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2005 I posted a tongue-in-cheek remark once that I thought the "poof count" should be shown under the "post count" and the HOST replied that poofed posts are removed from the count! Got that??? :)

divaofdisney Posted August 4, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2005 What are the advantages of the # of posts someone has? I am just curious is all?
nosnobunny Posted August 4, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Maybe just the poofer loses his/her post count and not those caught in the cross-hairs. I don't really know (although with my history I should :o ), this is just my best guess. Beth

Administrators Rare LauraS Posted August 4, 2005 Administrators #11 Share Posted August 4, 2005 The answer to this question is: it depends. If we simply "MOVE" a thread somewhere to a backstage area, post counts remain the same. If an entire thread is DELETED forever, everyone who posted in that thread will lose posts. We try not to do that. If a single posting is removed from a thread, yes, that is deducted from that member's posting count. Earlier today, for example, I deleted a large number of posts from the "Need Help" forum -- anyone who posted in there lost those posts forever. Sorry!
