5280mom Posted June 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2014 What is the best method of transportation on a Sunday morning from our Convention area hotel to pier 66? We are a family of four with too much luggage…. Planning to leave hotel between 11:30 am & noon, going to the market early for breakfast that day. mapleleaves Posted June 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) A taxi will probably be the most efficient since it will give you control over the schedule, and possibly cheaper than 4 shuttle fares. A taxi is usually $15- $20 for 2. Shuttle Express partners with several hotels ... check their website to see if your hotel is on the list or close to one that is. I think it's $12 pp but kids ride free. You're tied to their schedule tho. Edited June 12, 2014 by mapleleaves
garycarla Posted June 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2014 If the hotel itself does not have a shuttle (check when you get there), then a cab is by far way better that dealing with some service. You go when YOU are ready.
RJ7591 Posted June 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2014 We stayed at the Moore Hotel (two blocks from the market) and they recommended a car service. It was $28 for 4 people and it ended up being cheaper than a taxi for us. The hotel staff set it up and made all the arrangements. It was very convenient. Our only problem was that we set it up ourselves for the driver to pick us up after the cruise to take us straight to the airport for an early flight. When they showed up it was a different driver and he brought a car and not a van and it wasn't large enough. We honestly didn't need to schedule one anyway because there were taxis and vans everywhere! We paid $65 for the 4 of us to get from Pier 91 to the airport.
