Dance Venues

Is there the facility for ballroom/latin dancing during the evening?

Our previous experiences are with Princess (no dance floors big enough, even if music suitable) and Costa (fabulous music, multiple venues, huge dance floors).

So, is it worth packing our dancing shoes?

Thank

Martin.

Varies between ships I presume. We have danced Ballroom, Sequence and Latin on Arcadia, Ventura and Azura.

Ok not too big floors but you just modify your dance technique to match.

Never bothered taking my dance shoes though.

That's interesting about Costa, I wouldn't have equated Costa to Ballroom dancing.

I wouldn't have either, but found out about it before we went, and was not disappointed. 6 piece band in the main room (the dance floor was packed at times) and the violinist in the specialist violin/piano bar was taking requests all evening. Tango'd to a superb rendition of Por una Cabeza and we were the only ones on the dancefloor. Our performance wasn't worthy of Scent of a Woman or True Lies but we had a great time nonetheless.

You can add Oceana,Aurora and Oriana to your list.

Oriana is the best for dancing...we didn't get much in on Aurora as they use Carmen's for shows as well as dancing whereas on Oriana the dancing is in harlequins..we rarely bother on Azura as it's in the atrium and the dance floor is far too small...Ventura is obviously the same

As long as you had a great time. We Dance like nobody is watching. Hope your better half tango'd with a red rose in her mouth....:-)

Was on Oriana last fall (Oct?). Found the floor and music in Harlequins to be entirely satisfactory. The ambiance was far different from Costa- very sedate, not much going on after 11PM except drinking in other bars. The floor was usually not crowded except they often announced sequence dances, more or less at random, I got caught by surprise a couple of times.
