gaa2 Posted June 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2014 First time Celebrity. Will be in port overnight on Solstice in Sydney. After we check in and put our bags in our cabin, we may want to go ashore and come back very late or even the next morning . Any problems with this? Can you get on and off at all hours as long as you are back at least 1 hour before sailing? Thanks!
sddsddean Posted June 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Basically, yes. We overnighted in Buenos Aries and did the same. There will always be security on the gangway, so you can come and go as you please. Sydney is pretty safe, so you should be OK at night as long as you use your head! You might have to be back more than 1 hour early for Muster Drill...we did ours just before sailaway and I think everyone had to be on board 2 hrs before departure...you'll have to check on arrival. Solstice on 21st Dec 2014 is overnighting, BUT it will be relocating on 22nd to Athol Buoy in the harbour because another ship is using the Terminal that day. There is some uncertainty on the actual time when it relocates... some sources suggest 5.00am on 22nd .... others say evening on 21st I am not sure what the arrangements are, but I fancy that if this is your cruise you should check it out. There is some more info on the roll call for this cruise cheers Edited June 22, 2014 by Flipper133
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2014 Yes, be sure to check -- one would hate to come home after a few drinks and find that the ship has vanished!
