Puffsmommy Posted June 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2014 I'm confused... when I booked my first free casino cruise over the phone I had to pay in full at that time-even though the cruise was almost 3 months away.. Now I have a second free cruise (with paid upgrades) and when I held a reservation online for 24 hrs. it only asks for a $300 refundable deposit and gives me till 60 days out to pay the balance. Sorry, I don't mean to rub in the free cruises to those who didn't get them...just wondering if I can really get my deposit back if I have to cancel before final payment??? I would just call carnival and ask.

I would just call carnival and ask. Paid other booking in full too. But the new online booking does say $300 refundable deposit. I guess I will have the email as backup, if I have to cancel. bibbysnow Posted June 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I booked two with crappy PVP. Paid taxes and port charges and minimal room charge at the time of booking.

I use a PVP personally. I would call and ask Carnival when you book. I believe all of the Casino offers have the following listed under the under the Terms section: Carnival’s standard cancellation penalties will apply to cancellations and no-shows for any reason and will be assessed based on the prevailing cruise fare at the time of booking. and according to the CARNIVAL Cancellation policy: CANCELLATION BY GUEST, REFUNDS Reservations will be held until 30 minutes prior to departure. No refunds will be made in the event of “no shows”, unused tickets, lost tickets, interruptions, partially used tickets, cancellations received late or after the start of the cruise, or for Pack & Go program purchases. Carnival strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation insurance from your travel agent. Cancellation charges for individual bookings will be assessed as listed below. For cancellation charges related to group bookings, partial ship charters or full ship charters refer to your charter contract or group booking agreement for terms and conditions. 2,3,4 & 5 day cruises Up to 61 days None (except Cruises to Nowhere*** and Early Saver*, Easy Saver*, and Super Saver fares**) 60 to 46 days Deposit*** 45 to 30 days Deposit or 50% of Total Fare, whichever is greater 29 to 15 days Deposit or 75% of Total Fare, whichever is greater 14 days or less 100% of Total Fare Edited June 27, 2014 by wiskt
samiam0403 Posted June 27, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I booked mine on-line a week or two ago - a 4 night on the Imagination for the first week of September this year. I had to pay the total balance - which was $80 pp for taxes/fees - when I booked it. It was definitely more than 60 days out, but obviously under the standard deposit amount. I've just realized this doesn't really help you at all. Sorry! :o Hope you find an answer!
