thied Posted July 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2014 Brisbane new cruise terminal will be going be built on the eastern side of the gateway bridge and on the south side on the river, if you look at google maps it is between aquarium passage and port Lynton national park at the moment the roads to the area are Anton rd and Barku crt, also can use the Pritchard rd over pass link as well. Kiwi Kruzer Posted July 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2014 Well thats certainly a bolt out of the blue. When was this announced and by who? Looking at the map it does not look as if the big cruise ships would have enough room to turn around there. Could it handle QM2 , or something like an Oasis ship? lorry like a truck Posted July 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Well it can't be any worse than where the NSW GOV put their terminal. Right in the middle of nowhere. Nowhere to stay, nowhere to have a coffee, and more expensive in transport to and from the airport.
Widebay Posted July 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Most ship port terminals are not located in the best position for passengers. Port Vila has a bit of walk to get into town, Pride of America cruise ship & other ships berth near downtown Honolulu - which is bus or taxi ride out to Waikiki, Princess cruises berth in Brisbane River away from the action, but I must say on our last Celebrity Millenium cruise from Hawaii to Sydney, it was nice docking at Circular Quay, right in the city. thied Posted July 31, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted July 31, 2014 The temp cruise terminal at the grain wharf will close, where the new cruise terminal will be a hotel and shopping.
