lovetotraveltx Posted July 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Is there one we can do in Ketchikan, 1st choice or Skagway? Having trouble finding the answer. Thank you!
Budget Queen Posted July 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2014 The only salmon bake I know of in Ketchikan is a fly in. In Skagway there is Liarsville. They go between, allowing and not allowing nontour eaters. No clue what's going on this year. Are you going mainland Alaska, a few more options there. A compromise in Ketchikan could be to go to a good seafood/fish restaurant.
PNW Traveler Posted July 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2014 If you are cruising out of Seattle - there is a great salmon bake at Tillicum Village on Blake Island, an easy boat ride from Seattle. The salmon bake includes an excellent native American production show with dances and story. The lodge site for the dinner is beautiful as is the island, which is a state park. http://www.argosycruises.com/tillicum-village/
Rare donswife Posted July 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2014 We had so much delicious salmon on our Westerdam Alaska cruise, including grilled by the pool on Ketchikan day, we did not feel a need to pay for more on shore.
sept10dsm Posted July 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2014 We did a salmon bake that was offered by Princess. It was a combined Mendenhall and hatchery tour. I know the buses for the salmon bake were right there at the dock as well for those not taking the Princess tour.
