lpslps Posted July 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2014 We are thinking about a seven day Danube Cruise (Nuremburg to Budapest), or possibly a 14 day cruise (Amsterdam to Budapest). We could do it anytime between May and August. When is the best weather for the touring experience? Do some seasons have higher risk of high or low water messing up the cruise? Any other advice? CruiserBruce Posted July 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Come on over to the River Cruises board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=191\ for all the River Cruising info you will ever need. On a pure weather basis, the best time would likely be July/August.
dsrdsrdsr Posted July 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2014 If you like it hot, sunny, and humid, July-August is your best chance. If you don't, May is better.
navybankerteacher Posted July 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Late Winter-early Spring gives some chance of high water making low bridges a problem, while late Summer-early Fall brings the chance of low water. Most of the time the rivers are navigable, but there is some seasonal risk that you might be on a bus for part of your itinerary.
