kaztig79 Posted July 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'm going on the Emerald princess in August, few years ago they used to have Hot Chocolate in the morning up in the buffet but they have stopped this. I thinking of bring my own hot chocolate sachets but I prefer hot chocolate made from hot milk. Does anyone know if they do hot milk in the mornings? You can also purchase a coffee card and use it for hot chocolate at the International Cafe/Coffee Bar. My husband really enjoys his chocolate in the morning while I enjoy my coffee. It has a cost though where the hot milk from the buffet doesn't.
ggprincess2004 Posted July 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I think you can still get hot chocolate in the dining rooms. Haven't had occasion to request it in the last few years, but I think it is still available there.
redtogo Posted July 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Hot chocolate is free only if you have a current sailing's coffee card. If you don't have a coffee card for the cruise that you are currently on, hot chocolate is around $1.50.
mcgratru Posted July 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I believe Hot Chocolate is also included in the soda plus package....$8/day for unlimited soda, juice, mocktails, milkshakes, floats and hot chocolate.
mr green Posted July 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2014 On the Golden a few months ago, I often had hot chocolate at dinner, fixed seating, at no charge. Once on this 28 day cruise, we all had to have 'any time seating' and when I requested hot chocolate I was asked for my card. I told the waiter that I had never been charged before, he asked my table number, and a few minutes later my chocolate arrived at no charge. A few times I made my own in the H. C. from a package provided. john

ggprincess2004 Posted July 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 14, 2014 The hot chocolate served in the dining room, at least a few years ago, was very rich and delicious. It was beyond a guilty pleasure. I am glad to hear it is still being offered, it will probably be my indulgence of choice once or twice on next year's Alaska adventure. :D
